Thank you to everyone who joined!
On November 22, 2025, WiSER successfully hosted its Annual Industry Mixer at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Research Facility (ECERF) at the University of Alberta.
The event brought together students, early-career professionals, and representatives from industry and government for an evening of purposeful networking and career exploration. Designed to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment, the mixer provided participants with the opportunity to engage directly with STEM professionals, gain insights into diverse career pathways, and strengthen their professional networks.

This year’s mixer featured 25 company booths and welcomed over 100 attendees, creating a dynamic environment for meaningful networking. Guests enjoyed free food and beverages, along with valuable professional services—including rapid resume reviews from the University of Alberta Career Centre and complimentary headshots provided by SUB Photo.
One of the most memorable moments of the evening was the inspiring keynote address by Kim Muir from WIN House, whose insights and advocacy set an empowering tone for the night.
Our toonie raffle, including prizes provided by Club Periodically and WISEST, added a fun and engaging touch to the event. Thanks to the incredible support from attendees, we raised $300, which will directly benefit WIN House and support their essential programs such as nursing care and counselling.
A huge thank-you to our speakers, industry partners, volunteers, and organizing team. Your contributions made this year’s mixer not just an event—but a celebration of community, empowerment, and opportunity in STEM.
