On Saturday, September 20th, the 17th Annual Mosquers Film Festival Main Event will be hosted in Edmonton.
Celebrate Muslim talent in arts and film with a red carpet, screening of eight short film finalists, and awards presented by an outstanding jury.
The Short Film Screenings are: Lyna Tadount & Sofian Chouaib’s Ya Hanouni (France); Farnoosh Abedi’s Holy Heavêness (Iran); Justin Mashouf’s 17.74 (USA); Morgan Mathews’ Clara’s Fruit (USA); Maryam Khodabakhsh’s Spider-Zan (Iran); Amina Cami’s The Trees Still In Brooklyn (USA); Hashim Sharaf’s A Beautiful Excuse For A Deadly Sin (Bahrain).
The event will be at the Winspear Centre from 5:30 – 9:30 PM MDT tomorrow.

On Sunday, September 21, there is also an amazing opportunity to screen Palestine 36 (2025), Palestine’s official submission to the 2025 Oscars, at the Landmark City Centre from 2:00 – 5:00 PM MDT.
In 1936, as Palestinian villages revolt against British colonial rule, Yusuf navigates between Jerusalem and his rural home, amidst escalating unrest and a pivotal moment for the British Empire.
