Nucleate is dedicated to empowering the next generation of biotech leaders. These events, held alongside the Upperbound AI conference, aim to catalyze collaboration, investment, and ecosystem growth within Canada’s vibrant life sciences sector, with a special focus on Alberta’s potential.

1. May 20th | Nucleate Canada: Partners Showcase
- Focus: An intimate gathering for ecosystem building, trainee activation, and partnership development in Alberta. Connect key stakeholders directly with our Activator teams.
- Highlights:
- Engage with key partners like CDL Nurture, Lab2Market Health, i2I, Amplitude Ventures, early-stage investors (TNT, UCeed, Frontrow Ventures), grant agencies (Mindfuel), and ecosystem enablers (Alberta Innovates, AEC).
- Participate in a panel discussion on “Supporting the Next Generation of Scientists”, featuring voices from CDL, Lab2Market, and the Invention to Innovation (i2I) program.

- Stick around for a Fireside chat with the Senior Director of Founder Development at the Velocity incubator out of University of Waterloo. The incubator that has helped the founders of more than 400 startups achieve a collective enterprise value of $35 billion. Joined by Chris Haskell – Head, JLABS San Francisco Bay Area to share insights on how Scientist Founders are supported and the Opportunities and Challenges on maintaining a thriving ecosystem for biotech innovation to take root.

- Focus: Investment and commercialization. Witness pitches from the Activator cohort finalists and gain insights from panels featuring successful biotech founders and leading investors. Includes dedicated networking and Q&A sessions for investors to connect directly with the finalist teams.

- Network with key stakeholders in Edmonton and across the broader Nucleate network visiting Edmonton.
- Gain insights from panels including “Working Backwards: Insights from Canadian Biotech ”, and “Building Tomorrow’s Biotech: Investors on Cultivating Scientist-Founders.
